Cobblestone throat

Hi, may I ask how would I know if the lumps in my throat are cobblestone throat?

Hi @TT thats a great question! Cobblestone throat refers to "lumpy" or rough surface at the back of the throat. This can occur from inflammation that results in swelling of the "lymph" tissue that is in this area at the back of the throat. Possible causes include allergy, certain infections, GERD, and others which I have written about in greater detail in the link above.

You can try resting and increasing your water intake from the outset, as that would provide significant relief of cobblestone throat arising from most common causes. That said, if it persists for more than a couple of days, or comes with other more ominous symptoms like swelling in your neck or if you notice blood in your phlegm, do see your family doctor for an early check-up.

This can be done online using a video consultation at your convenience, to check if it will be necessary to travel and see a doctor in-person. Alternatively, the online doctor may be able to prescribe you the medications that you need  or issue you a referral to see a ENT specialist for further check-up if required (some of these services provide medication delivery as well) - you can read more about this here:
