Hi Doctors. First and foremost, I would really like to thank you guys for fighting the virus as frontliner. We are really lucky as Singaporeans to have a top notch medical team of professionals here
in SG. You guys have to undergo the risk of transmission to treat patients, and you can be a parent, a child, a sibling, a cousin, a friend to people around you, and yet, you guys fought bravely. Thank you. For my question of today, I came across a silicon made mask which claims "to have 98% filtration efficiency, much more than N95 mask". Attached is a picture of the mask. When enquired, they claimed that the mask is 'CE' and "SCS" certified, and claimed that SCS is the same as FDA. A quick research seems to suggest that SCS does not endorse any PPE. Based on a professional medical perspective, can you provide some opinions on this silicon mask that seem to have those certifications? Also, medical journals are saying that face shields are eve more effective than masks, are these statements validated?
