I have a 3 month old baby who has hives on him. It’s on his whole body his scalp even turns red. Can I give him Benadryl? he weighs 14 pounds. He is breastfed.

Hives on his body I breastfeed him. Could my diet make him have hives

Hi!

From what I can see on the image it does not appear to look like hives. Secondly I would avoid giving antihistamines like benadryl I'm a child less than 6 months. The safest antihistamine one can give at the age of 6 months can be fexofenadine or cetirizine which are second generation anti- histamines.
I would suggest a visit to the pediatrician to have a better look at this rash.

I’m pretty sure they are hives the welt up on his check they come and go. The just pop up on his legs and arms then they disappear after 30 minutes or so.Also he has a dr appointment in a few dats to get vaccinations can he still get them?
