I recently shadowed in an OR and after about an hr, I felt like the room got smaller and there was no air. I desperately wanted some fresh air and felt dizzy and nauseous, close to fainting. I sat down and felt a little better, but had to keep sitting periodically for the next hr.
Other times this has happened was about 10 years ago when I was working in a hospital dish washing room and felt dizzy and nauseous and fainted. Somehow I ended up in a chair drinking water and was okay. I also feel dizzy in rooms with indoor pools and recently, sometimes when I am in the shower close to getting out.
I don't have any health issues other than my BP being a little high. I used to faint a lot. Once I felt dizzy and nauseous in a store and fainted. A nurse gave me orange juice because she said I was pale, then I was fine. I had a comprehensive metabolic panel done last yr and nothing abnormal.
This makes me nervous to work in the OR for safety reasons
