I am a Family Physician by training and runs Our Woodleigh Family Medicine clinic at the new Bidadari/ Woodleigh estate. I enjoy practising both Family Medicine and Aesthetic Medicine at Our Woodleigh Family Clinic. In addition, I teach our future doctors at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University.
I was inspired by doctors performing overseas humanitarian aid and I do want to help and heal patients too. I have since went to Yunnan, China and Cambodia on medical trips to reach out to the communities.
I specialise in Family Medicine as I believe in holistic care of the patient and be the trusted family doctor that patients will first think of and approach whenever they have any healthcare needs in the family – from themselves, to their child, their parents, grandparents and their domestic helper ( if any).
I enjoy seeing patients of all ages, taking care of their healthcare needs. I do have a special interest in dermatology and have also pursued a postgraduate diploma in practical dermatology and aesthetic medicine. I enjoy treating their skin conditions as improvements are very noticeable and I derive satisfaction from that.
I would like to build an ecosystem for primary care and incorporate technology in the provision of healthcare services, making it a convenient and pleasant experience for both patients and the healthcare providers.
I would need to build a healthcare team who is equally passionate as me about patient’s care and highly motivated in providing excellent healthcare services. This will include the traditional brick and mortar clinical services, tele-medicine consultation as well as home care.
I currently run 2 Family Medicine clinics and the biggest challenge that I face constantly is manpower constraints, ensuring that there is adequate trained staff and good doctors to take care of our patients. It is important to train the new staff who join us and do regular training for existing staff as clinic workflow changes rapidly during this pandemic.
I learn that early training is advantageous as the knowledge acquired will come in very useful and I am able to focus on other aspects of my career subsequently.
Personally, I enrolled into Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine and Diploma in Practical Dermatology (UK) soon after graduation and advanced my training subsequently by pursuing a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine as well as Graduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine.
All these trainings allow me to be able to take care of my patients better and assist with their healthcare needs. Having completed my training early, I am now able to focus more on taking care of my patients instead of taking time off work to attend lessons.
I teach at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine as a House Tutor and Clinical Skills Facilitator. I always tell my students to work hard and play harder. Be willing to learn and get out of your comfort zone. The same advice applies to doctors who just graduated.
I enjoy going to the beach, going out to sea and doing water sports. I miss white water rafting in Bali and will go again once travelling resumes.
